Tag rugby is a development from touch rugby where the ‘touch’ has been replaced by each player wearing a number of velcro ‘tags’ which the defenders have to pull off, one at a time, to force the attacking player to pass the ball.
Tag rugby has quickly gained popularity in a similar way to touch rugby, with limited equipment required and no physical contact, it can be played by all ages and both sexes within any social parkland. It has developed within schools were rugby skills and fitness can be developed with mixed teams.
